Easy breezy circle skirt (Output)

Wir haben ein schönes, sonniges Wochenende im Harz verbracht. Natürlich waren wir auch auf dem Brocken aber die Bilder dieses Posts sind auf dem Nach-Hause-Weg entstanden. Wir haben einen kleinen Zwischenstopp im Heimburg eingelegt und da eine weitere Kletter-Foto-Session gestartet.

We spent a sunny weekend with our friends in the Harz Mountains. Off course we hiked the Brocken but the pictures shown in this post are from our way back. We did a quick stop in Heimburg. That's where we did another climbing photo session.

Den Pulli kennt ihr ja schon von diesem Post. Neu ist aber der Tellerrock. Den hab ich mit Hilfe Rosie Martins großartigem Buch "DIY Couture" genäht. Ich hab letztes Jahr schon mal darüber berichtet und meine Leidenschaft für dieses Buch ist noch nicht abgeflaut. Es ist immer noch die beste Literatur auf dem Markt, wenn es um einfaches Klamotten nähen geht.

You know the sweater already from this post. The new thing is the circle skirt. I made it with the help of Rosie Martin's great book "DIY Couture". Last year I wrote a review on this book and my love didn't fade yet. It's still the best book I know if it comes to sewing clothes.

Pimp my shoes! (Output)

Manche von euch haben bestimmt schon den Button rechts in meiner Nav-Bar gesehen auf dem "Eigenwerk Design-Team Mitglied" steht. Stolz muss ich sagen: "Ja, das bin ich!" Seit April schreibe ich einen Post monatlich für den Blog des Magazins. Diesen Monat hab ich über verschiedene Varianten geschrieben, Schuhe aufzuhübschen. Den Artikel könnt ihr hier lesen.

Some of you might have noticed the button on the right hand side that says "Eigenwerk Design-Team Mitglied" (= Member of the Eigenwerk Design-Team). "Eigenwerk" is a German DIY magazine that started as a pure online magazine but is now also available as a print version. This zine also has a blog I'm writing a post for each month. (Since last month)
This month's post concerns pimping up shoes. It's in German but I think you can follow the instructions with the help of the pictures, though. So, have a look here!

Ob ihr an eurem Pfingstwochenende Schuhe aufhübscht, wegfahrt, oder einfach nur auf Balkonien die Sonne genießt, ich wünsche euch jedenfalls viel Spaß dabei!

Partywoods at T-Shirt Festival, Dresden (Part 1) (Output)

Samstag und Sonntag war es soweit: Nach vielen Ankündigungen und schlafarmen Nächten (der Aufregung geschuldet) war ich mit meinem kleinem, feinem Label Partywoods auf dem T-Shirt-Festival in Dresden.
Die Teilnahme da kann ich jedem Jungdesigner und Hobbybastler nur wärmstens empfehlen. Jeder der seinen Krempel selber macht kann teilnehmen. Die ganze Organistion ist entspannend einfach und das Rahmenprogramm herrlich unprofessionell. Das mein ich im positiven Sinne. 

After countless announcements and many sleepless nights (due to the excitement) I got the possibility to finally present my label Partywoods at the T-Shirt Festival in Dresden last weekend. I highly recommend the participation to any hobby crafter or youngster desinger. Everybody can take part as long as you make your own stuff. The organisation is very laid back and the show´s amazingly unprofessional. In a good way.

Ich teile den Rückblick in zwei Teile auf. Im ersten Teil zeig ich euch die Bilder von der Catwalk Show und im nächsten Post die Bilder vom Stand. Die Fotos vom Catwalk haben meine Eltern und Laetitia vom Nachbarstand gemacht. Vielen Dank dafür!

Im Anschluss gingen wir auch noch für meine Standnachbarin Laetitia von Laeti Berlin über die Bühne. Sie konnte sogar Björn für den Catwalk gewinnen.  

Afterwards we also walked for my stall neighbour Laetitia from Laeti Berlin. She even got Björn to walk for her.  

Schaut euch mal ihre Sachen an. Sie zeichnet unglaublich schöne Skizzen von Berlin und bringt diese dann mit Siebdruck auf Shirts und Taschen.

Have a look at her stuff. She´s doing awesome sketches from Berlin and screen prints them on Shirts and Bags. Nice!

Danke an alle, die mir geholfen haben. Vor allem an Fanny, Chrissi, Björn, Lisa, meine Eltern und meine Oma (die auf meinen Stand aufgepasst hat, während wir auf dem Catwalk waren) und an Laetitia, die ich eben erst kennen gelernt  habe. Aber ein riesengroßes DANKE auch an alle, die einfach nur so mal vorbei geschaut haben und natürlich auch an die, die etwas gekauft haben.

Thanks for everybody´s help. Especially to Fanny, Chrissi, Björn, Lisa, my parents and my grandma (who looked after my stall, when we were on the catwalk) and to Laetitia which I just met. And also massive THANKS to everybody who just stopped by and also to those who bought something.

Letzten Samstag hab ich meine frisch gedruckten Visitenkarten aus dem CopyTake 16 abgeholt. Designt hab ich sie selbst. Ah, ich mag sie!
Jetzt hab ich auch etwas, das ich kommendes Wochenende beim T-Shirt-Festival in Dresden Interessenten mitgeben kann.

Saturday I picked up my white hot cards from CopyTake 16. I designed them myself and yes, I really like them.
Just got them on time to hand them out at the T-Shirt Festival the oncoming weekend in Dresden.

Oh Gott, wenn ich an Samstag denke, werd ich so unendlich aufgeregt! In meinem Kopfkino funktioniert alles wunderbar: hübscher Stand, geile Catwalk Show, tolle Präsentation meines Labels... Aber ich hab keine Ahnung, ob sich die Realität darum schert, was in meinem Kopfkino läuft.

Thinking of Saturday (T-Shirt-Festival) drives me crazy! Everything works out fine in my head: Setting up a nice stall, throwing a smashing catwalk show, presenting my label... But I have no bloody idea what reality thinks about my ideas.

Wisst ihr, wenn ich so durch die Welt schlendere und plötzlich schaut mich quasi aus dem Nichts heraus ein Gegenstand an... Das ist eine der Sachen, die mich immer zum Lächeln bringen.

Posing in Andalusia Part 3 (In- and Output)

Das ist also der dritte und letzte Post, in welchem ich eine himmliche Landschaft für meine irdischen Vorhaben missbrauche. Aber die ganzen Grau- und Grüntöne im Hintergrund passen einfach so perfekt zu dem Shirt.

Third and last post in which I abuse a heavenly nature for my earthy doings. But hey, the greys and greens compliment my shirt so much, don't you think!?

Das Shirt besteht vorn und an den Ärmeln aus einem leichten, weichen Jersey und hinten aus schwarzem Schweizer Voile. Hallo! Der absolute Traumstoff. Wer in Berlin auf der Suche nach exklusiven Stoffen ist, die man aber auch noch bezahlen kann, der sollte zu "Kumasch" auf der Kantstraße gehen. Da hab ich die Zutaten für mein Shirt her.

A soft light jersey makes up the front and the sleeves. The back is made by the most beautiful piece of black Swiss voile. Hello! What a fabric. If it comes to exclusive fabrics in Berlin I highly recommend "Kumasch". That's were I got my ingredients from.

Hier die Rückansicht. Au mann, ich liebe dieses T-Shirt. Es sieht so entspannt aber gleichzeitig auch irgendwie edel aus. 

Here a picture from the back. I love this Tee. It manages to look casual and sophisticated at the same time.

Nahaufnahme der Schrift. Jep, ich hab das Motiv Punkt für Punkt draufgebracht. Ich saß mehrere Stunden da mit einem dünnen Pinsel. Musik dazu an, Gehirn aus. Der Aufwand hat sich gelohnt.
Ich hab tatsächlich viel für die meisten Kunstrichtungen seit Beginn der Moderne übrig und Pointilismus hat auf mich schon immer eine seltsame Faszination ausgeübt. Es hat auch einen absolut meditativen Effekt, wenn man es selber macht.

Close up of the writing. Yep, I did it dot per dot. Sat there with a thin brush for hours. Music on, brain off. But it was worth the effort. 
I'm a sucker for most kinds of art starting from early Modernity. And Pointilism always exerted a strange fascination to me. Doing it is rather meditative, too.

Das obige Gemälde stammt von Georges Seurat und heißt: "Un dimanche après-midi à l'ile de la grande jatte". Ich vermute, der Titel hat mindestens so viele Wörter, wie das Bild Punkte.

That's a painting by Georges Seurat. It's called "Un dimanche après-midi à l'ile de la grande jatte". I reckon the title has got at least as many words as the painting's got dots.

Ach ja, wer wissen will, wie der Ersatz-Perso aussieht: Hier isser! Die große Anne auf dem Bild mag vielleicht wie ein zufriedenes Honigkuchenpferdchen grinsen, aber nehmt euch vor der kleinen Anne auf dem Passfoto in Acht. Sie sieht so aus, als wöllte sie euch nur zu gerne die Eingeweide mit einem Baseballschläger herausprügeln. Ich liebe Passfotos!

By the way, who wondered what my replacement ID looked like: Here it is. The big Anne on this pic might grin like a (Attention: word by word translation of a German idiom following!) honey-cake-horse. But beware of the small Anne from the passport photo. She looks like she'd fancy nothing more but beating the guts out of you with a baseball club. I love passport fotos.

Wie dem auch sei, genießt einen faulen Sonntag. Ich werd es jedenfalls tun.

Andalucia Part 2 - the boys edition (Output)

Ich selber brauche die "Flirty Stawberries" zum Glück gar nicht mehr. Ich hab seit geraumer Zeit den gleichen hübschen Mann, der mit mir durch die Welt tingelt. Und da ich ihn ja auch ein bisschen mag, mach ich ihm hin und wieder mal ein Shirt. Das T-Shirt auf dem Foto ist jetzt zwar schon ein Jahr alt, aber wir hatten im Urlaub erst die Möglichkeit es zu fotografieren.

Fortunately I don't need the "Flirty Strawberries" anymore. I have the same sweet boy on my side for several years. And as I like him a tiny bit, he, too, gets a shirt from me every now and then. The shirt Björn wears on this pic is one year old by now but we just got the opportunity to take photos in the previous holidays.

Nicht wegen dem zerknitterten Look schimpfen. Wir hatten einfach mal kein Bügeleisen im Reisegepäck.

Don't scold me for the wrinkled look. We just didn't have an iron in our travelling luggage.

Kleine Randnotiz bezüglich des Hintergrunds: 
Da mir mein Portemonaie in Granada geklaut wurde, mussten wir ein Auto ausleihen und nach Málaga zum deutschen Konsulat fahren um ein Ersatz-Ausweis für mich zu besorgen. Auf dem Rückweg haben wir dann einen kleinen Road Trip durch das Sierra de Grazalema gemacht. Wundervolle Ladschaft mit Bergen, weißen Dörfern und einer üppigen Flora.

As my wallet got stolen in Granada we had to rent a car and go to the German embassy in Málaga to get a replacement ID. On our way back we did a little road trip through the Sierra de Grazalema. Beautiful area, with lots of mountains, white villages and a rich flora. Just in case your wondering about the background.

Hier sind wir beiden. In unseren coolen Partywoods-Klamotten und zufrieden mit uns und der Welt. Ach, Urlaub... ;)
